What Happens When You Stop Eating Sugar?

DO YOU WANT SOME SUGAR?

If you’re like most Americans, there is a good chance that you’re eating more sugar than you should to remain healthy.

Sugar consumption has never been as high as it’s today. In a century, we’ve gone from 1 kg per year per capita to 25 kg per year per capita and this is still increasing!

Responsible for 35 million deaths per year, we could almost talk about a serial killer!

This should make us reflect a little!

Sugar, the element that’s everywhere in our diet, which exalts our taste buds and gives us a feeling of immediate well-being, that food which reassures us and that we give to children when they have behaved, that pure white molecule, added to our drinks so they taste better is certainly the worst poison for our cells!

And yes, we are addicted to sugar, industrial products abound in supermarket shelves, children are always asking for more because they are used to eating sweet food very early on, their cells are craving for more like addicts for their dose of heroin.

But at the same time, diseases such as diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular conditions are on the rise.

We often talk about the damage that regular sugar consumption causes to the body, but why not talk about the benefits of quitting?

There are many benefits, and we’ll enumerate them in this article.

This should motivate you to reduce your consumption and restrict it to only certain occasions! We’re also gonna show you in this article how you to stop eating sugar and it’s easier than you think.

The effects of sugar withdrawal

1. Weight Loss And Reduction Of Cellulite

Sugar is a high-calorie food and its consumption activates the secretion of insulin hormone from the storage produced by our pancreas. The more sugar we eat, the more we use our pancreas to produce more insulin and this extra sugar becomes fat. By quitting sugar, this rate will be regulated and storage will be reduced, so we will lose weight!

Sugar turns into fat.

AND YES, WHEN SUGAR INCREASES INSULIN PRODUCTION, FAT PRODUCTION INCREASES, ESPECIALLY ABDOMINAL FAT.

By stopping sugar, you’re improving your muscle/fat ratio.

In addition, some people eat poorly without necessarily being overweight, but the results of impedance show a decrease in lean mass (muscles + bone mass). Which is not good either. Sugar by creating fat will create cellulite and reduce muscle mass. What you need to achieve is a loss of fat and not muscle even at the same weight. Reducing sugar helps with body recomposition by improving the muscle/fat ratio.

2. Prevention And Improvement Of Diabetes

Another element of excessive sugar consumption is that our insulin receptors (key to getting sugar into the cell) become insensitive to insulin as a result of being stimulated: RESULT: GLYCEMIA INCREASES in the blood and causes damage!

By quitting sugar, we improve INSULIN SENSITIVITY, reduce the incidence of diabetes and at the same time slim down!

3. Reduction Of Premature Ageing

The increase of sugar in blood will increase the formation of toxic radicals called “carbonyl stress” which results from the combination of sugar with a protein, in other words, CARAMEL. This has the effect of a BOMB in the body by increasing the incidence of cancers and other civilizational diseases (including Alzheimer).

4. Recovered Energy

Insulin resistance caused by overconsumption of bad sugars can make the mitochondria (the energy centers of our cells) inactive. When our mitochondria are tired, it’s difficult to move forward, we are too tired to do sports and we even feel depressed!

From then on, reducing the consumption will regulate the level of insulin in the blood and reactivate the mitochondria: we will produce energy again! Amazing! It’s also an effect that we can feel with physical activity: getting back to movement regenerates the mitochondria and gives us a hell of a feeling!

5. You’ll Reduce Cravings

The more refined sugars are eaten, the more disrupted is the synthesis of serotonin and dopamine.

We seek quick taste pleasures

Serotonin will help fight cravings and sugar cravings. When its synthesis drops, cravings appear; dopamine is involved in the “reward” cycles. We need to consume more and more sugar to activate dopamine.

We are caught in a vicious circle; we need to eat sugar all the time to be morally well even unconsciously! It’s the cake every night in front of the TV, the chocolate bar at 5:00 p. m., the candy, the excess of white flours, and the sugar in the coffee…

Reducing the refined sugar in our diet will require some adaptation of our cells, but as the days go by, we will be less and less addicted to sugar and lose the need to eat all the time.

6. You’ll Be Better Emotionally And Psychologically

Over-consumption of sugars will lead to low morale, motivation, drive and put us in a very irritable state. It’s a real addiction: if we don’t eat it, we are not well.

The benefits of sugar withdrawal:

  • BETTER SLEEP
  • BETTER MOOD
  • WE ARE MORE CALM AND LESS IRRITABLE
  • CLEARER IDEAS: LESS MENTAL FOG
  • WE’RE MORE PSYCHOLOGICALLY ALERT
  • BETTER CONCENTRATION AND MEMORY

7. You’ll Improve Your Intestinal Flora Which Will Lead To Digestive Comfort

The intestinal flora is linked to the immune system. The consumption of sugars will create a state of dysbiosis (imbalance of the flora) with the proliferation of bad fermentation and putrefaction bacteria, which weakens the immune system and makes the body more fragile and vulnerable.

The benefits of sugar withdrawal:

  • BETTER DIGESTION
  • LESS BLOATING AND FLATULENCE
  • DIMINUTION OF CANDIDA ALBICANS

Candida albicans (see candida article) loves sugar; this is how it grows! Stopping it will starve it; result? In general, we will be better at the digestive level and we will have much more energy

8. You’ll Get Sick Less Often

Since sugar is inflammatory, stopping it will improve IMMUNITY and reduce the incidence of ALLERGIES, COLDS and INFECTIONS of all kinds.

9. You’ll Have A Better Looking Skin

When sugar consumption is eliminated, the formation of pimples and blackheads is reduced. In addition, it diminishes the formation of free radicals and the complexion is more luminous, relaxed and even. The skin is less harsh.

10. You’ll Lower Your Cholesterol

And yes! You’ve probably never been told that sugar increases the formation of fat and CHOLESTEROL!

We never think about cutting sugar out of our diet in case of high cholesterol and this should be our first reaction.

In this way, if you have high cholesterol, reducing bad fats is a good thing, but you also have to cut sugar because sugar produces cholesterol!

What About Processed Foods?

candies

The worst thing about everything is excess. The rise of industrial products on supermarket shelves is leading us to consume ever more sugar. This leads to a kind of addiction. But whom does it benefit? To industrialists who don’t care about health!

Moreover, since sugar is inflammatory, it’s the preferred food for cancers. This is another reason to reduce it.

Below is the BLACKLIST of the worst sugar-loaded foods found everywhere:

  • CHEESE, MILK BASED BREAD AND COMMERCIAL COOKIES: if your children are asking for cakes, it’s better to make them at home,
  • BREAKFAST CEREALS FOR CHILDREN
  • CANDIES
  • SODAS
  • INDUSTRIAL FRUIT JUICE (even concentrated juices!)
  • KETCHUP: 1 tablespoon of ketchup = 1 square of sugar
  • WHITE SUGAR: Choose whole sugar or coconut sugar over white sugar
  • SMOOTHIES with added sugars
  • INDUSTRIAL SOUPS rich in hidden sugars and yet salty!
  • INDUSTRIAL FOODS: even those that are supposed to help you slim down!

The Solutions

1. Eat “Real” Food

fruit

What I mean by “real” food is food that existed 5000 years ago.

FRUITS ARE EXCELLENT FOR HEALTH AND SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED FROM OUR DIET. I OFTEN SEE DIETS WHERE FRUITS ARE PRACTICALLY BANNED IN FAVOUR OF DAIRY PRODUCTS AND LOW-CALORIE BARS!

Strawberries, apples, oranges are excellent for your well-being.

Eating fruit (preferably between meals for better digestion) is good for your health and corresponds to our genetic programming.

Why deprive yourself of it?

2. Prefer Whole Foods

red rice full of nutrients

  • Whole grain, black rice or red rice to white rice
  • Wholemeal white pasta. In addition, cooked pasta “al dente” has a lower glycemic index.
  • Wholemeal flours to white flours

3. Dietary Supplements Can Help

Probiotics

Sugar cravings are most often linked to a disturbed intestinal microbial or intestinal flora and it’s essential to rebalance the intestine with probiotics (provided they are sufficiently dosed and of known strains).

There are also plants that in their most concentrated form will stop sugar cravings and improve sleep in the same way; and yes, people who are “addicted” to sugar often sleep quite badly!

Probiotics can be helpful because it considerably reduces the symptoms of sugar cravings and sleep quality also improves significantly.

The action is twofold because it’s focused on the rebalancing of the intestinal flora thanks to probiotics and on the supply of natural serotonin via plants.

CONCLUSION

REDUCING SUGAR IN OUR DIET IS AN ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT.

Sugar should not be banned from our diet but only consumed in moderation! So start learning from TODAY to enjoy healthy and natural foods and to allow yourself to satisfy your cravings from time to time is a good balance.
